How to Exercise in the Heat Exercising in Summer

The heat can be a major problem for looking to workout in the summer. If you are not taken care of yourself you might be suffering from health issues such as heat stroke, heat exhaustion, dehydration. Exercise in heat can be risky if you are not careful. So stay safe during heat exercise by drinking enough fluids includes water, energy drink, etc, wearing proper clothing and select workout time before the heat comes.

Under the normal condition, your skin and blood vessels adjust to the heat, but if you are exposed to high temperature for long time, you sweat heavily and don’t drink enough drinks.

We have some tips for you to do workout in summer days with safely.

  1. Take a cold shower

Before you start your workout you may want to take cold shower. Once you finish your shower you will be ready for workout. In the mid time of workout you have to take some fluids.

  1. Wear light clothing

Wear cotton cloths and use bright colors which reflects the sun and protect from the sun exposure. Cotton is a light weight and reasonable cloths that can help you to stay dry. The main part of our body is head so you have to protect you head by wearing cap on the head.

  1. Stay hydrated with the right fluids

Water is the best on hot day for staying hydrated. If you planning to exercise for more than 1 hr you want to drink some fluids.

Sports drink are important when you doing workout for long time, because sports drink contain potassium, electrolyte that can rehydrate.

  1. Plan where to exercise

Always choose shaded area over places to protect from direct sunshine. In the cities most of the people are doing workouts on the road so choose forest site area to protect from sun exposure.

  1. Take it indoors

It is not bad to workout in the gym or at you home if you have equipment. When there is an excessive heat, this can be your best decision to stay cool and avoid health related injury.

  1. Know your limits

Listen to your body and if you begin to feel dizzy or tired take some break. Taking some time off for rest is better than overdoing .
