The Gokarna is known as cow’s ear, this is a holy site. This is located on the Karavali Coast which is nestled between the river – Agnashini and Gangavali. This center region is known for the housing of the famous Shiva Temple, also the ‘Atmalinga’ is located here. Everyone believes that the famous Atma Linga of Lord Shiva is in the shape of a cow’s ear, this has given rise to the name, Gokarna. 

The Gokarna is hailed as one of the seven ‘Mukti Stalas’ which are the pilgrimage centers present in Karnataka, India.

 

Gokarna Beach Trek:

 

This is situated in the northern waterfront district present in Karnataka. This covers around 518 Kilometres from Bangalore. It is not as extravagant as Goa , but this is the place where the individuals from everywhere throughout the world can seek harmony for culture, which is the sanctuaries and obviously for the lovely shorelines.

  This place is one of India’s most secluded and pristine beaches nestled nearby the location. This place draws both the pious pilgrims and hedonistic holiday, this makes with an equal enthusiasm.

 

Trekking Route:

You have to start the trek from Paradise Beach and it will continue on Half Moon Beach, then to Om Beach next to Kudle Beach and ends on the Main Beach. Here the long sandy stretches of Om Beach and Kudle Beach, these are a delight for every beach lover. Thus the beaches are providing an exciting vistas of the expansive on the Arabian Sea and the endless horizon.

 

The Gokarna encounters the southwest storm between the months of June to August, after this climate, it is pleasant and bright.

The best time to visit Gokarna is during the month of October until March.

This trek alternates between the beaches and hilly terrain and walks through some of the most scenic beaches present in India. Most of these beaches were untouched by the tourists and are inaccessible by road and making the trek more interesting and worthwhile.

Gokarna is a small temple town present in Karnataka. This is a popular place for the Mahabaleshwar Shiva temple, which is located in the main Gokarna town. Thus the beach trek starts from here.

 

Golden Route:

This Gokarna has several beaches and this trek route is most popularly known as the “Golden Route “.

 

This trial will entail you by walking on the beach sands as the side of the rocky hills. It is located by rocky hills on one side and far stretching Arabian Sea on the other side.  This is in the shape of OM and the travellers will be spending longer hours.

 

Then you have to move on to a more rocky hills trail and you will reach an half Moon shaped beach and the crescent beach. This beach hopping trail will end with Paradise beach. You have to walk up to the paradise beach, which is relatively difficult as the route is fully covered by rocky hillocks.

 

Location:

Gokarna is located 520 kms from Bangalore, and 170 kms from Panjim, it is an ideal place to spend your weekends trekking. This trek is a beautiful and challenging one. This is due to the precipitously weather conditions at the shore.

 

Best place to visit:

 At this place you will forget your city life and enjoy the serenity at the rock of peace on the Om beach. The trek will further take you to Kudle beach, which is a famous sunset spot. This beach is very secluded, there were many activities available here. When you find a perfect quiet corner to become one with nature, this place will be the best answer.
